Mr. Marin Podmolov

An artist with an extremely rich creative range and culture. He is equally masterly in figured composition painting, mural painting, portrait, nude, still life, landscape, tapestry, art space design, posters, trade marks, letters etc. Despite the fact that his works in the art of painting vary from an abstraction to the poetical realism and orthodox topics, his works are quite individual and could be easily distinguished.
The Batikencaustics /mixed technique, his personal patent/- not made by human hand batik is contrasting with the specific color spots of the encaustics and relief. From similar to the cathedral singing, where the children’s voices jingle and create unique harmony, to the powerful male baritone and bass voices, recalling the unique patina of the time.

Here is what the artist said: “In the recent decade I can see how the fine arts influence to one another and penetrate into one another, enriching them. Very often in the art of painting we meet the plastic art or graphics methods and the sculpture uses colors. When I think about it, I consider that this is not a new thing. We just need to remember Egypt or Ancient Greece. At the same time, this ‘mix” of styles is a total one as a whole – movie classics in the modern musical clips, the art of painting from all the times in the cinema. The better informed and talented the authors are, the less unexpected, the more successful and profound the result is.
I am now longing for a celebrity world critic, in the future, looking at my paintings, could recognize that I lived on the Balkans at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21 th century. The painting, which both my wife and I are creating now, if it were music, it should be called melodic orthodox jazz “Madonna”, “Time”. In another aspect, I can define our joint works as poetical, sur-realistic abstraction- “Autumn”, “Strange flowers”, “Sack with fire”. I often paint landscape, still life, nude and compositions, which I can modestly define as a poetical realism.”
